FROM SCRAPHEAP TO SERIE A

AC Milan’s transfer boss is interested in luring Andy Carroll to the San Siro.

Pier Silvio Berlusconi, son of Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi and a consultant on transfers, thinks that Carroll is the type of player who might be able to freshen up their ageing squad.

He said: "This is a new era for Milan. We will continue to get younger while maintaining the culture. Milan still has its superstars.

"As a future target I’d like Andy Carroll.

"I must admit that, for his body build, and after seeing his header in the Euros, I would like to have Carroll at Milan."

WHO WILL FORM AVB’S HIT LIST?

Newly appointed Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas will put together a hit list of targets, with reports suggesting he will be handed a handsome transfer kitty to play.

Some papers report as much as £100m, while off-loading Luka Modric will also help the bank account.

Highly rated Marseille striker Loic Remy (14 goals, six assists in Ligue 1), Ajax and Belgium defender Jan Vertonghen (£10m), Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson (£8m) and CSKA Moscow and Russia midfielder Alan Dzagoev are all prime targets, the Daily Mirror suggests

Rafael van der Vaart’s future is increasingly uncertain, while the club desperately wants to secure on-loan marksman Emmanuel Adebayor.

CHELSEA EYE MAICON COUP

Chelsea could be about to close a £6 million deal for Inter Milan's brilliant fullback Maicon, with the Brazilian's agent due in London later this week for talks, Metro reports.

It is reported to be a three-year-deal, with wages of around £80,000-a-week, as Roberto Di Matteo looks for a replacement for Jose Bosingwa and Paulo Ferreira.

MOUTINHO A POPULAR TARGET

Joao Moutinho is suddenly a player in hot demand. We reported earlier this week that AVB, might be interested in bringing his compatriot to White Hart Lane.

But Sir Alex Ferguson might be about to flex his transfer muscle and make a play as well.

The Sun reports that Manchester United are willing to table a £25million bid for the Porto man, after growing fed up in their chase for Luka Modric.

LIVERPOOL NEED TO FEND OFF SUITORS

Brendan Rodgers has a bit of work to do to ensure he keeps the players in his squad that he wants.

The Daily Mail reports that Juventus are interested in netting striker Luis Suarez as they look to mount a defence of their Serie A title.

Meanwhile, Napoli are eyeing Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel after banking £24million from Ezequiel Lavezzi's move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Suarez, Skrtel and Daniel Agger are yet to sign new deals.

On the other hand, a contract clause might allow Senegal striker Demba Ba to leave Newcastle for way below his true value if the deal is done by the end of July – and The Daily Mirror is reporting that Rodgers wants to cash in on the bargain buy. After that date, clubs would have to pay the 27-year-old's full market value.

BENDTNER’S PRICE GOES UP AFTER EUROS

The Daily Mail also reports that Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner future appears away from London, with Galatasaray and Malaga fancying the Denmark striker.

Bendtner's agent Jesper Lynghus told Denmark newspaper bold.dk last month: 'The interest is overwhelming, just as it should be after the way Nicklas performed at Euro 2012.'
